SH*T MY MOM NEVER TAUGHT ME

My A-Z Commentary of Life

Home: Welcome

HELLO

Ciao tutti! I identify as Barbara, Barbs, Bee, Mom and Moonch. I'm enjoying life in the 50+ category and currently live in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Graduating cum laude from the University of Hard Knocks, I'm embarking on this blog as I am passionate about writing and whilst I my full-time job pays the bills, that inner pesky voice has been screaming at me to start a blog so I finally listened and viola, you have "Sh*t my Mom never taught me".

I blog about life, my life experiences and all that "Sh*t my Mom never taught me" which hopefully will entertain, educate, empower and/or excite you. Who knows but I am dipping my arthritic big toe into the blogging pool and taking a plunge!

I'm Mom to 2 amazing sons - there will be a blog or two about them - who are 33 and 28 respectively and basically raised them as a single Mom even while married to their Dad. That was marriage Numero Uno; the collective and royal we prefer to fast forward about marriage Numero Due as it was not my finest moment and now I'm very happily married to an incredible sane and strong man who is my rock, the calming hand that steadies this emotional and sensitive Bee who can at times have a sting, but far prefers smiles, hugs, cups of tea, laughs and love as well as of course, writing.

I'm very self-deprecating and my ability to find something positive and/or humorous in my darkest hours (and there have been quite a few) has kept me sane in the blackest moments of my life. I prefer English spelling to American; and am pedantic about spelling and hone into spelling mistakes with razor sharp focus and speed.  My blog is me in my real, unique and unapologetic form.  I do not mince around my pet hates and do not suffer fools let alone conspiracy theorists.  I believe in tolerance, fairness, equality, peace and justice together respect for every one's authentic unique self.

I'm Proudly an Italophile and our (husband e mio) dream is to live in Italy. I am certain I must have a minute gene which is Italian; every time I visit Italy I feel so at home in the beautiful Bel Paese. I am loving learning the italian language thanks to the Duolingo app; have an enquiry mind and if you want to know sign up to my blog - please and thank you!  Enjoy reading and thank you for the support.
